School Structure

The overall governance for the school lies with the School Board. These members are nominated and elected annually by members of the parent body. The Principal and a Teachers’ representative are also members of the Board.

The School Board is responsible for overseeing the governance of the School and ensuring its financial stability. The School Board establishes the School’s strategic direction. It is not responsible for the educational or operational aspects of the School.

Committees

Members of the School Board chair a number of committees and report monthly to the Board on the activities of each committee. These are listed below. Parents are encouraged to join a committee.

Finance Committee: Responsible for overseeing the financial management of the School and advising the Board of matters of strategic importance.

Public Relations and Marketing Committee: Monitoring how the school is being projected to the community. When required, the public relations person may need to obtain and provide the necessary facts and figures to the Board so that they may represent the School to the larger community. Actively markets to the School both internally (to existing families) and the wider community.

Safety Committee: Responsible for ensuring a safe working environment for our Staff, children and families. We encourage parents to be observant and note occupational health and safety issues in the book provided in the office.

Buildings, Grounds and Maintenance Committee: Responsible for maintaining the School grounds and buildings. Organises and facilitates busy bee tasks for parents. This person is also currently responsible for facilitating the new building projects at the School.

Policy Committee: Reviews and writes School policies and procedures.

Governance Committee: Facilitates best practice governance by the School Board.
